Riley Joyer Receives 2025 Meeker County Farm Bureau Scholarship
Riley Joyer, a senior at Litchfield High School, has been named a 2025 recipient of the Meeker County Farm Bureau Scholarship. Riley plans to attend the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities to study agricultural education and become an FFA advisor and teacher.
A ten-year 4-H member and an accomplished FFA leader, Riley’s experiences span from exhibiting livestock and judging poultry products to leading at the chapter, county, and regional levels. She currently serves as president of the Litchfield FFA chapter, Region V FFA Sentinel, and secretary of the Meeker County 4-H Federation.
“Throughout my time in 4-H and FFA, I’ve grown to love educating others about agriculture—whether I’m working with younger members at day camps, coaching Parliamentary Procedure teams, or planning ag literacy events for local students,” Riley shared. “These experiences have helped me discover my calling: to become an ag teacher and help the next generation grow.”
Riley’s dedication has earned the admiration of both her peers and mentors. Litchfield FFA advisor Robert Cole noted, “Riley’s unique combination of thoughtfulness, inclusivity, and compassion, along with her strong internal drive to succeed, is rare. She leads by example and is in the top one percent of students I’ve worked with in my 19-year career.”
Riley also finds time to give back to her community, volunteering at events like the Center Bank Brat Feed and the Moo Bar malt stand at the Meeker County Fair. She’s participated in national leadership events, testified at the Minnesota House Agriculture Committee, and shared her agricultural story with state leaders.
Kayla Huhn, Meeker County 4-H volunteer and Extension staff, added, “Riley always goes above and beyond to help others. Her passion for agriculture and education makes her a standout leader in every way.”
Please join us in congratulating Riley Joyer on receiving the 2025 Meeker County Farm Bureau Scholarship! Her leadership, dedication, and passion for agriculture education are truly inspiring, and we wish her all the best as she begins her studies at the University of Minnesota this fall.
