Making Meeker County Shine – One Mile at a Time

On May 10, Meeker County Farm Bureau hosted a spring Highway Cleanup Day, and we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout or better company! Around twenty volunteers came together for a morning of community service, fresh air, and connection, all starting from West Ripley Park in Litchfield.

Decked out in bright safety vests and armed with gloves, our crew took to the roadside with purpose and plenty of good humor. Along the way, we picked up the usual debris and a few unexpected “treasures,” including:

  • 🛞 A tire (with rim!)

  • 🚘 A license plate

  • 🔧 Assorted car parts

  • 🥏 A disc golf frisbee

  • 🛏️ A blanket

  • ⛳ A golf ball

  • 🎲 A game of Yahtzee—missing the dice, unfortunately!

After our work was done, we gathered at the Farm Bureau Financial Services office in Litchfield for a well-earned pizza lunch, where the laughter continued and new friendships were made.

A special thank-you goes out to Michael Niedzielski’s team at Farm Bureau Financial Services for partnering with us on this event. Their support helped make the day safe, successful, and fun from start to finish.

We’re already planning to hold another cleanup later this summer, so if you missed this one, don’t worry! You’ll have another chance to join in and make a difference.
